DIY: Jil Sander Veiled Beanie

Quem já estava com saudades da tag do it yourself? A de hoje é super criativa, e é lá do blog HonestlyWTF. Quem não se lembra do desfile do Jil Sander Spring 2012 onde todas as modelos usaram uma espécie de gorro preto com véu? Virou febre lá fora quando a sempre inspiradora Anna Dello Russo apareceu vestindo um by Stephen Jones. Não surpreendemente, todas as meninas seguiram o exemplo e agora o “gorrinho” aparece por todas as semanas de moda. Tá difícil de achar por aí? Sem problemas, a gente faz!

Who was missing the tag do it yourself? Today’s super creative, and it’s from the blog HonestlyWTF. Who doesn’t remember the Jil Sander’s Spring 2012 show where all models used a black veiled beanie? Last season the ever inspiring Anna Dello Russo was photographed wearing one by Stephen Jones. Not surprisingly, others have followed suit and the same veiled beanies have recently been spotted on the streets of Milan and Paris. It’s difficult to find there? No problem, we make one!

Você vai precisar: 1- Um gorro de malha preto/ 2- Rede francesa/ 3- Linha para bordar de uma cor semelhante/ 4- Agulha de bordado/ 5- Tesoura

You’ll need: 1- a slouchy knit beanie/ 2- 9″ x 24″ French veil netting/ 3- embroidery thread of a similar color/ 4- an embroidery needle/ 5- a pair of scissors

Coloque a rede ao redor do gorro, de forma com que o gorro fique no centro da rede. Dobre as extremidades para o centro.

Spread the netting out lengthwise. Place the beanie in the center of the netting, offset by about 3 inches. Fold the two ends towards the center. 

Costure a rede ao gorro. Na figura é usado um fio branco para que possamos entender melhor. Mas faça com o fio na cor semelhante ao gorro.

Overlap the two sides of netting and sew them to the beanie with a single stitch. (Is using white thread here so you can see the stitches). 

Continuar costurando o centro. Repetir o passo do outro lado do gorro.

Continue the stitch by folding down one side in half and sewing the edge to the beanie. Repeat the same step on the other side.  

Agora dobre de ambos aos lados no meio novamente, no mesmo ponto. Costure as bordas para o gorro com outra linha.

Now fold over both sides in half again, to the same center point. Sew the edges to the beanie with another stitch. Double knot the thread from the inside and trim. 

Gire o gorro de cabeça pra baixo, ache o ponto médio, e costure a borda inferior da rede com um único ponto. Faça um nó duplo para o acabamento.

Turn the beanie over, find the middle point, and sew the bottom edge of the netting to the beanie with a single stitch. Double knot and trim. Make a 1.5″ fold. 

Voila, you’ve been veiled!
